The OASIS

The OASIS is a virtual reality game consisting of thousands of planets. A large majority of Ready Player One is spent inside of the OASIS. The OASIS is accessed by putting on a visor and haptic gloves and connecting to a main server. The OASIS is enormous, with planets for anything and everything, including recreatoins of planets from Star Wars, a virtual version of the creator's hometown, and versions of old text-based video games. Nearly everyone spends most of their time in the OASIS as an escape from the grim surroundings of the Earth.
